Nazareth Academy's Campus Ministry Department is responsible for liturgies, service and retreats.
Throughout the school year, Masses and prayer services mark significant events, including the Opening School Mass, Four Pillars Mass, Ash Wednesday, Junior Ring Service, Holy Week Living Stations of the Cross and the Closing School Mass and Graduation. In addition, all Holy days of obligation are celebrated with all school Mass. All school liturgies are celebrated in the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel.
The Nazareth Academy Service Team consists of the following committees:
F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service and Hospitality), Helping Hands, Hodgkins Tutoring, Caring Place for Kids, St. Cletus Food Pantry, Prairie Restoration, Liturgical Prep Committee and Retreat Planning. All Nazareth students are encouraged to become involved in the Service Team, which is a student-run organization with an executive committee and co-chairs for each committee. Service Team leaders and Homeroom representatives conduct annual drives, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and relief response.
Freshman and Sophomore retreat days are planned and conducted by the Campus Ministers and Senior leaders. The Freshman and Sophomore Retreat days take the place of a regularly scheduled school day and take place on the school campus.
Juniors attend an overnight retreat at the Christian Brothers LaSalle Manor Retreat Center in Plano, IL. Seniors are given the opportunity to attend a Kairos Retreat.
