A Foundation of Support: The Nazareth Academic Approach

Personal Attention
Academic excellence begins with connection. Our 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio and average class size of 24 ensure that every student is seen, heard, and understood. This small-scale environment allows our faculty, staff and Guidance team to provide the individual attention necessary for students to excel at all levels.
Nazareth teachers are more than instructors; they are mentors. Whether it’s before school, after school, or during the mid-day Activity Period, our faculty is regularly available and eager to provide one-on-one help. Our Block Schedule is intentionally designed to give students ample time to seek support.
Tutoring Center
Nazareth’s Tutoring Center is open every day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is available to students in every grade level for all classes. Additionally, faculty members from the Mathematics and Science departments provide expert guidance and support our peer tutors, offering specialized assistance to students working through challenging STEM concepts.
The Tutoring Center houses our Peer Tutoring Program. Nazareth’s Academic Support Teams recruits and trains motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors to serve as volunteer tutors. These students are individually matched with peers who request extra help in specific subjects, including our Honors and AP classes.
Students can easily request tutoring appointments by using our online request form or contacting the Tutoring Center staff, their guidance counselor, or their teacher directly.

Freshman Supported Study Hall
Led by a dedicated academic support team, our Freshman Supported Study Hall ensures a smooth transition to high school. The Supported Study Hall program provides select freshmen with extra guidance in developing executive functioning and content area support needed to be successful in high school.

Academic Accommodations
Nazareth provides the following accommodations only:
- Extended time for chapter tests and semester exams
- Front row seating
- Not required to use bubble sheets on assessments
All accommodations are approved, coordinated, and monitored by the Guidance Department.
Extended time for chapter tests and exams is offered to those students enrolled at Nazareth Academy who have an approved current (within two years) diagnostic report from a qualified professional on file indicating a learning disability/deficiency that merits this accommodation.
This service must be renewed each year. Qualified students should meet with their counselor each fall, at which time they will be given a Release of Information to be signed by both student and parent/guardian.
