As we look forward with great anticipation to our upcoming competitions, I want to reach out to our entire community - athletes, fans and families - to share our vision for Nazareth Athletics and how our school’s core values translate to the field, court and track.
At Nazareth Academy, we hold our students to high academic and behavioral standards. Athletics provide a unique classroom where those standards are put into practice. Our coaches and staff are committed to being role models of integrity, and we expect the same from our students and spectators.

Our Commitment to Sportsmanship
To honor the integrity of our competitions and adhere to the IHSA Sportsmanship Code, we ask all members of our community to commit to the following:
- Be Positive: Nothing takes the joy out of a game faster than negativity. Please refrain from "coaching" from the stands or criticizing players and coaches. Our Freddie Fanatics student section is instructed to cheer for our Roadrunners and take the high road; we ask our adults to lead by example.
- Respect the Officials: Officiating is a difficult job. While emotions can run high, please remember that we have a formal IHSA process for evaluating officials. Raising your voice from the stands is never productive. If an immediate issue arises, our administrative staff is on-site to handle it.
- Prioritize Safety: If you witness inappropriate behavior, please locate an event supervisor or administrator immediately. We will handle all reports confidentially and promptly to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
- Represent Nazareth Values: Attending Nazareth competitions is a privilege. We follow the expectations outlined in our Parent-Student Handbook, and we reserve the right to restrict entry to those who cannot uphold our standards of conduct.
The Bigger Picture
Learning to win with humility and lose with grace are essential life skills. We value these lessons just as much as the final score. We salute our students, parents, and fans who demonstrate a positive attitude and make Nazareth a class act in every arena.
