Voice & Spirit: The Choir Program

At Nazareth Academy, our choral program is a vibrant expression of our community’s spirit and faith.

We believe that every student has a voice worth sharing, providing a space where musical excellence and personal growth take center stage. From concerts to school liturgies and assemblies that represent the heart of Nazareth, our singers learn choral literature from all musical genres.

Nazareth Concert Choir

The Concert Choir is an inclusive ensemble open to students of all grade levels. As a regularly scheduled fine arts course, it offers a comprehensive foundation in musicianship without requiring any previous singing experience.

  • Performance: The choir performs three major concerts annually and serves as the musical leaders for all school liturgies and services.
  • Curriculum: Students develop choral singing techniques and explore a diverse repertoire ranging from timeless traditional pieces to modern pop arrangements.

Progressions: Advanced Vocal Ensemble

For singers seeking a high-level performance challenge, Progressions is our premier auditioned small group. This ensemble focuses on fast-paced, independent learning and advanced vocal styles.

  • Repertoire: A focus on contemporary and a cappella music.
  • Performance Excellence: In addition to school concerts, Progressions acts as ambassadors for Nazareth at community events throughout the year.
  • Commitment: Rehearsals take place Monday afternoons and select activity periods.
  • Auditions: Held early each Fall; members must demonstrate the ability to learn music independently using digital resources and recordings.
