The Foundation of Nazareth Academy

A planned gift is a contribution that is arranged in the present and allocated at a future date. This could be a gift of cash, property or other assets such as stocks. By leaving a planned gift to Nazareth, you are ensuring an incredible future for generations of students. Your legacy will impact our students for many years to come.

Charitable Remainder Trust

By placing appreciated property or cash into a charitable remainder trust, a unique gift arrangement can be made that would provide income for you and perhaps a specified beneficiary as well. Tax benefits include an initial income tax deduction and avoidance of capital gains tax for appreciated securities. At the end of the agreed period, usually the donor and/or beneficiary’s lifetime, the remainder of the trust’s assets would be given to Nazareth to support future generations of students.

Bequest

Leave a gift specific to Nazareth Academy in your will. Charitable bequests can be structured in many ways and are deductible for estate tax purposes.

You can become a permanent part of the legacy garden walkway. These commemorative pavers are an outstanding way to honor present Nazareth students, alumni, parents, the Sisters of St. Joseph, friends, teams, teachers and organizations.

Commemorate and celebrate the artistic contributions of alumni, current students, parents, educators, Sisters of St. Joseph or friends and name a seat in their honor or memory. 

Seat dedications are available in the Romano Family Theatre for $100, $250 and $500. A brushed gold metal plate will be etched with your personal message and permanently placed on the arm of the theatre seat. Plaques will hold your personal message for the additional naming options.

The opportunitiy to name the Tech Booth ($25,000) is also available.

Gifts of Securities 

Giving long-term appreciated stock offers you a two-fold tax savings. First, you avoid paying any capital gains tax on the increase in value of your stock. In addition, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the transfer, which is the date the stocks are received in the Nazareth account. Contact our Development Office for stock transfer instructions and always consult your tax advisor to see how a gift of securities can benefit you and Nazareth.

Donor-Advised Funds 

A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving account that lets you make a contribution, receive a tax deduction and recommend grants to nonprofits over time. Nazareth is certified 501c3 and accepts gifts made through DAFs. 

Matching Gifts

A matching gift by your company or organization extends your generosity by adding the matching amount to your own gift at no additional expense to you. Simply contact your Human Resources Department and inquire about your company's matching employee donations policy. Follow the procedure they recommend and designate Nazareth Academy as your gift recipient.
